The Empowerment Challenge – Music Program
The Empowerment Challenge (TEC) provides younger mums with a safe space to feel empowered, connected, respected and valued. Offering long term accessibility to services providing mental health and well-being support, mentorship and community connection.
Sponsorship amount: $14,868
TEC plan to implement a music program as part of their current outreach program. They will have the Bluebird Foundation, an organisation that specialises in providing music education for younger mums and their children. This program aims to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where vulnerable mums can take part in music sessions alongside their children.
The music program will serve as a catalyst for connection, offering a safe and welcoming space for mums to come together and form meaningful relationships. By participating in these sessions, the risk of social isolation among the mums will be reduced, leading to improved overall health and well-being. Through the power of music, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and community among the participants.
After each session, TEC will offer additional support and referrals to other services if needed. This ensures that the mums receive comprehensive assistance beyond the music program, addressing any specific challenges they may be facing. TEC support workers will be present during the sessions, allowing the mums to establish trust and build relationships with them.
By incorporating this music program into the existing outreach program, TEC will provide a unique opportunity for mums to bond with their children, engage in creative expression, and form connections with both peers and supportive professionals. The combination of music, support, and community-building activities will contribute to the overall well-being and empowerment of the participating mums, helping them navigate the challenges they face and create a brighter future for themselves and their children. TEC believes this program will bring in additional younger mum’s to the program – estimating an additional 5 over a 6 month period.
