Ella Howard – Bachelor of Nursing, Deakin Waterfront

Born in Melbourne, Ella’s family has dealt with a multitude of illnesses that made growing up quite difficult. When Ella was 8 years old, her family moved to Geelong so that her parents could find work again. It was here where she discovered a love for school. She devoted her young life to studying, always with the intention to be the very best, but, it was her own run in with illness in 2019 that prevented her from becoming a doctor and saving people. Instead, Ella decided to devote her life to nursing and focus more on the mental, emotional, and physical health of others.

It has always been a dream of Ella’s to become a paediatric nurse and work with sick children, devoting her life to making their stay in hospital an experience where they feel loved and cared for.

Ella’s goals are to move out of home after university and begin travlling the world as a pardiatric nurse, assisting children from all walks of life.

“This scholarship will allow me to dedicate less time working and more time devoted to studying. I am appreciative of all the impactful ways the scholarship greatly supported and benefits my education at Deakin and beyond. Thank you so much for your wonderful gift of education!
